My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Adoptions (adoptions@thalppc.com) for more information about this pet.

Bruce is a 5 year old German Shepherd/Husky mix relinquished to our care as his owner was moving and could not obtain housing that would allow her dog. He was adopted from a local animal control facility 4 years ago and was an amazing companion over the last few years. His owner kept him up to date on vet care and preventatives so Bruce is in great health and is turn key ready for his next adventure.

Bruce has done exceedingly well under our care and impressed us as well as our dog trainers in his obedience and commands. He sits, shakes, knows down, and does not jump on his humans. While large at 80 lbs, he gets along amazingly well with both large and small dogs and has been socialized with both. He is a “dog park dog” and would do well with social outings in his next home.

Bruce is 100% housebroken and kennel trained. He will enter his kennel with the command “house” and keeps his kennel spotless. He loves toys, playing tug of war, and just being around people and other dogs. He has not shown any aggression towards cats but did not reside with cats so a careful introduction would be required.

Bruce adores children of all ages and has proven to be a wonderful, loyal, and adaptable boy. He has handled the stress associated with an abrupt life change like a champ and we absolutely adore him! Bruce has a beautiful coat and a unique blue spot in one of his eyes.

He is an all around “good boy” and he is ready to live his best life with a person/family who will commit to him for the long haul. He requires no training, possesses no bad habits, and is patiently waiting for his freedom ride!

The adoption fee is $125 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, test for heartworms & heartworm preventative medication, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.

We're open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 p.m but doing adoptions and meet & greets by appointment only.

More about this shelter

The Pet Placement Center not only saves animals to adopt to good homes, but also works with local rescuers to assist with the trap-neuter-release of feral cat colonies. We also provide pet food, litter, and other supplies for low income pet owners & other rescue organizations in need.
