Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mocha is a 9-year-old girl who is truly delightful. She is sweet, quiet, and well behaved. She can be shy at first but quickly warms up and loves attention and snuggling. She was surrendered to HBHR by an owner who said her other (larger) dog was aggressive towards Mocha. The owner also said Mocha gets along with cats, but we cannot confirm that since there are not cats in Mocha’s foster home.
Mocha gets along fine with other dogs. She must have lived a good life when she was growing up, because she seems content and well adjusted, and has not shown any separation anxiety. She is perfect on housetraining with access to a dog door and has never had an accident in the house. She enjoys going on leash walks and going out to the backyard to look for birds and squirrels. She is not into playing with dog toys. She is very food motivated, like a typical beagle, and wolfs down her meals. She is crate trained and goes in the crate on her own and on command. She also sits on command. She is quiet in the crate and not destructive at all when her foster mom goes out on errands. She has the run of the house at night and choose to sleep in one of the dog beds in the master bedroom or living room, where she sleeps quietly all night long. She hasn’t gotten into anything in her foster home that does not belong to her, and she travels well in the car, without getting anxious or barking.
Mocha looks and acts younger than her 9 years. She is healthy and heartworm negative. She still has a lot of love to give and would be a wonderful addition to a lucky family. Please fill out an application if you would like to meet Mocha.
