My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This is Scotty, he is a very shy boy around strangers but once he knows you he will follow you around and want to sit next to you or on your lap.  He likes belly rubs, treats, and going for walks (still learning how this leash thing works though). Scotty is looking for a mellow home, so maybe no kids under 12 please.

Scotty is a quick learner, he understands off (the couch).  He can be a bit of a barker though, so would not do well in an apartment.  He gets along with other dogs and has spent time at a doggy day care.  He said it was fun and he found a pretty girl there but she already had her eyes on another boy.  Oh well, it was her loss!

If Scotty sounds like a good match for you, please submit an adoption application so that we can introduce you!

Scotty's  adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives plus a free basic obedience class at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. We look for adopters with current and/or former pets to have a demonstrated history of this. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet history check and a home visit.
