Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweetie came to us from Oklahoma back in August...a bundle of uncontrollable energy. Initially she was annoying to other dogs (and actually her foster family too!) only because she did not know how to interact with them; it appeared that she had developed absolutely no social skills and had very little interaction with people or other dogs prior to joining BAARK Dog Rescue.
Her energy and lack of social skills were a bit overwhelming and we quickly realized we needed professional help for her. Thankfully Dog Training Now met Sweetie and immediately recognized she was a diamond in the rough...and they were 100% right! We enrolled her in a two week board-and-train program providing her the full, individual attention she needed.
And….. What a difference just a couple of weeks has made! After her two-week board-and-train program with amazing trainer Mike, and the team at Dog Training Now, Sweetie has emerged an awesome girl. She loves everyone and everyone who meets her immediate falls in love with her...her bouncy, happy personality and the love and affection she offers.
An ideal home for Sweetie is one with another young active dog, or with an overall active family who enjoys running, hiking, going to the lake......taking their dogs out to enjoy a variety of activities with them! A fenced yard would be ideal so Sweetie can burn off her excessive energy, however she walks very nicely on a leash.
We would like to find a family for Sweetie who is eager to continue to work with her in training and help her continue to evolve into the perfect pup that she deserves to be. In order to set her up for success in her new home, her trainer will offer assistance in making this transition.
Sweetie is believed to be a Black Mouth Cur Dog, just over a year old, weighing about 60 lbs. We almost forgot to mention....Sweetie is blind.....she does not let her lack of sight get in her way of enjoying live to its fullest, so it is hard to remember that she cannot see!
She is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She’s now ready to move along to her forever home.
If you are that ideal family for Sweetie and are interested in adopting this precious pup, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.
