My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Miss Mia is a smart, sweet, and eager-to-please young lady looking for a foster, or better yet, her furever home.

Mia enjoys spending time with people and she LOVES learning. She is very food motivated and tries hard to understand what is expected of her. She has taken a basic obedience class where she picked up new commands very quickly and was eager to practice and show off her skills. Mia is still learning to be comfortable in different situations and needs a family who can give her the patience, practice, and consistency to continue to grow.

Mia has been through a lot in her life and she needs a home that can provide her firm structure and help her see all that life has to offer. She LOVES to hike and has a lot of energy and would love a family who likes to walk, hike, and explore. She has been working very hard on her car manners so she will be ready for all of those new adventures.

Additinally, Mia ran her first 5k in fall 2023 and LOVED it! So as much as she's a great walking and hiking partner, she's all in for being someon's running partner too.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue, but do also have a small shelter. You can contact us at diamondunderdogs@yahoo.com to setup an appointment to come out and check out some of our adoptables.

More about this rescue

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

Why we do it:
4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States.
That is 300,000 a month
Over 11,000 each day
Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.
