My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Claire, one of the sweetest and silliest of girls according to her foster mom! If you have ever wondered what a short legged Mexican jumping bean might look like, you’ve come to the right place!

Claire joined CRT after spending the first 7 years of her life in a hoarding situation with over 100 other dogs. Due to the start of her life, Claire has had a long journey to learn how to be a dog and more importantly, how to trust people.

Claire has been with CRT for over a year now, and proven that with time she can come out of her shell and enjoy life! She is approximately 8 years old and 8 lbs.

Claire takes time to build comfort in her home. She’s shy to start but if allowed time to warm up, and some yummy treats, she becomes very eager for attention! Claire sneaks up to her foster mom when she is sitting on the couch for head scratches and chin rubs! And when you get Claire in bed at night, she sleeps wrapped up with her foster mom, and she greets the sunrise by rubbing her entire body on her foster mom's face.

Claire is pee pad trained, but is doing great taking care of her business outside as well! Claire loves spending time outside, and isn’t afraid to make the garden her own personal salad bar. It is HIGHLY recommended that her forever family watch her closely outside as Claire isn’t shy about putting everything in her mouth! She’s slowly understanding how to drop things on command, but it's still a work in progress.

Claire is VERY food motivated! This girl hasn’t met a food or treat she doesn’t like, and needs to be monitored at meal times so that she doesn’t surf her siblings' dishes! She gets SUPER excited any time food is involved and starts bouncing up and down like a crazy thing. She’s absolutely adorable and her enthusiasm is endearing.

It is important to note that Claire is a flight risk, especially at the beginning! Due to her flight risk, we would like Claire to be in a home with a securely fenced in back yard.

Claire is spayed, UTD on shots and on HW preventative.

Her adoption donation is $300.00.

An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.

Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.

Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.
