My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hugo is a 2-3 year old Blue Piebald Male Great Dane with natural ears who came to MAGDRL from a shelter. November 2022: Hugo has been in his new foster home for almost a month now. His foster home has found that he is highly food motivated and discovered he has been trained in hand signals, what a nice discovery! Hugo is super playful and has lots of energy. He loves other dogs and enjoys being around them, even very little ones! Hugo loves his walks and enjoys going to the dog park. He plays with rope toys, squeaky toys and loves marrow bones. He loves to rest on the landing of the stairs and watch what’s going on. He doesn’t particularly like his crate but will counter surf if he gets the opportunity, so while his foster home is working on this, he still needs to be crated. He gets very excited when it’s time to come out of the crate and his foster home will wait for him to calm and sit before opening the crate door. Other behaviors being working on is his barking at outside stimuli and he is learning the command “I got this” to settle his excitement at outside activity. Hugo is super affectionate and fully house trained. He will sleep on a dog bed and stay with his person thru the night so crating is only needed when no one is home.

Hugo has made tremendous strides in his foster home and is ready for a family to call his own!

MAGDRL adopts to eastern NY, NJ, eastern PA, DE, MD, WV and VA only. Please see our website: www.magdrl.org for adoption procedures and fencing policies.
