My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lilly (formerly known as Darling)
Lilly has had a really tough last year and a half, but we can fill you in more on that later. For now, you need to know that she is absolutely perfect. She is potty trained, super well behaved in the house, knows sit, down, stay, and paw, walks relatively well on leash. She met a kitten who she kissed immediately (see photo).

Lilly would make a great family dog, she is very easy, one of the easiest foster dogs I have ever had and I have fostered over 300! She is an adorable mix of lab, shep, and pit, we think, but she pretty much acts like an affectionate little shadow. She is medium to low energy and wants nothing more to snuggle on the couch.

Sadly, when we met Lilly she had a massive tumor on her chest. That was removed and the pathology results told us it was a mast cell tumor, grade two. She had two mast cell tumors removed in 2020, and has a small one on her back right now. Her liver and kidney values are good so there is not reason to suspect she has additional tumors inside of her body. But Lilly will continue to have these mast cell tumors pop up, and they will continue to need to be removed. It's just who she is, it's part of her, but does not define her. Due to this, she will need an adopter with the means and willingness to have any new tumors removed as necessary.

Seriously, this is one special dog. Don't let her medical needs scare you off. She is beyond worth it!
