My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tyson!

He just arrived to us from one of our shelter partners in Texas. Tyson is an incredibly loving boy who once he knows you will give you hugs. He likes to lean into you as you pet him too. He loves being brushed and going for walks. He isn't big on typical playing. He has medium energy outside. Can be shy around new settings. He is affection motivated.
A volunteer with a 6 yr old son took him out and said he did great with the boy. He enjoyed some pets and walked great alongside the mom and son. She said "He's pretty chill. He just wants to be able to explore, go for walks, smell the smells, nap and get some loving pets from humans. He isn't needy at all. Would make a great family dog"

Here are a few more videos of him:

Basics: He is a neutered male guessed to be around 2 yrs old and weighs 55lbs. He is up to date on vaccines, rabies and flea-tick and heartworm prevention

Adoption Process:
- Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- One of our team members will get back to you via phone.
- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.

About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
