My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Yoda!

Yoda is very much a typical cattledog. She is energetic (but not super high energy) and would do best with an experienced home that has had a previous cattledog or another herding breed. She is sweet and does well with other dogs in play group, she does show very typical cattledog behavior. She would benefit from training and ideally sport training. She is smart and independent, and does not see any reason why she shouldn't be in charge!

Training and especially something challenging, would be ideal for her to build a working relationship with her person! Yoda is super cute! If you'd like to meet her, she's doing her best to be patiently waiting.

She enjoys playing with other dogs. She is currently at our boarding facility partner and is having a ball with dogs there. Here are two videos showing her in action:

Basics: She is a spayed female that is approx 1.5 yrs old. She is up to date on vaccines, rabies, flea-tick and heartworm prevention and has a microchip.

Adoption Process:
- Please fill out our adoption application: https://www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application
- One of our team members will get back to you via phone.
- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.
NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.

About Us:
Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Dyer, IN area and partner with 12 other rescues and shelters in both IL and IN that are willing to help southern pets in need.
We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports. Please donate if you can. Every dollar adds up and we are grateful for any help we can get: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DayoftheDogs
