My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TomTom is a big old bundle of love that needs furever home and a person to call his own. He looks intimidating because he is such a big boy, but once he is comfortable with you he is actually just a marshmallow. His favorite thing in the world is to have his face and around his chin stroked and scritched. He will let you do that all day long. Just stay away from his butt - he doesn't like having his butt touched.
TomTom actually self-surrendered. He was living on the streets as an unaltered tomcat when he started coming around to eat at our feral feeders. He eventually decided he want to call Catmandu home and actually broke in (twice) to join the family. It took awhile to gain his trust enough that we could get him neutered, but it finally happened and he has been a sweet and loving part of the family ever since.

TomTom is leary of strangers, which is why he hasn't gone home with anyone yet. It will take a little time and patience for him to acclimate to a new home and new family, but he is absolutely worth the effort.

Safe outdoor access is critical to his happiness. TomTom would not do well as an apartment dweller. A catio would be purrfect. A cat-proof fenced yard would be paradise as well.

We are hoping to find him a home before the end of October. Our onsite caretaker, who he has become very attached to, is moving away at that time and he is going to be devastated at being abandoned if she leaves and he is still here. I have no doubt he will deeply bond with a new family, but it is going to be SOOO much better for him if he is happily living with his new family before Tina leaves.

If you'd like to meet me and maybe take me home, fill out the Online Pre-Adoption Questionnaire on our website, www.catmanduCC.org (https://www.catmanducc.org/adoptions#:~:text=Fill%20out%20the%20Online%20Pre%2DAdoption%20Questionnaire)

Then come by Catmandu Friday through Sunday to meet the kitties and talk with an adoption specialist. Adoption hours are 11 am to 4 pm. Plan to arrive no later than 3 pm so you have time to spend with the cats before adoptions close at 4. Please bring a carrier in case you find your purrfect friend.
Renters must bring a copy of their lease showing they are allowed to have a cat.June 23, 2023, 12:21 am

More about this rescue

We are a 3900 sf cage-free rescue and sanctuary that is home to approximately 100 felines at any given time. Some are super-friendly and highly adoptable, others are a little more reserved and take some time to get to know you, and then there are those that still want nothing to do with people.
The biggest little rescue in Nevada, we do big things with very few people or money.
We do not limit intake to a specific geographic area. We are the only organization that accepts adult cats from Lyon and Storey counties. We are adoption driven, with a maximum capacity of 100 felines. Every cat adopted from us frees up a space for another in-need kitty to come to Catmandu.
