My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy was displaced by the McKinney Creek fire and needs to find a new home! She would be an amazing adventure buddy, as she is very outgoing and athletic. She could also be a great fetch partner! She is very smart and learns quickly.

Lucy is currently in foster “Summer Camp”  learning new skills to tap into her endless enthusiasm for a new adventure. She is thriving in the structured environment and her foster is hoping an adventure loving home will adopt Lucy directly from foster “camp”  before the end of the August when she is scheduled to return to Rescue Ranch. .

Ever thought how much fun dog agility would be? Lucy is a natural. On homemade equipment she is comfortable on both a teeter totter and raised walk course; think what she could do on a real course! Her agility practice at summer camp has helped her develop “wait“ and “stay“ skills as well directing her energy in a very positive direction.  She runs great with a mountain bike which has helped refine her loose leash skills.  As long as she knows a chance to expend her energy is coming she is content to quietly just hang out and wait for that day’s adventure.  Now is your chance to have this loyal and highly intelligent 4 footed friend as your own!

What’s better than a love for tennis balls and a love for the water? Learning to play fetch in the creek . Obviously the creek has been a new experience for Lucy but this super smart girl plunged in on her second toe dipping and has not looked back!   Lucy is great with adults and larger dogs, however a home without small animals or kids might be the most appropriate fit.

How about a buddy to carry your snack and hers too when you go hiking? Lucy is more than happy to oblige just for the fun of getting to go! She is making great progress on her loose leash skills and delights in the opportunity to explore new places (especially if there is water involved somewhere along the way)  Will you be the one to help her take her hiking and bouldering skills to the next level?   She is ready to meet her new folks any time now. Get your adoption application approved in time to take her home before August 26th to make her transition super smooth.  This week she will be starting training for some agility course moves while attending foster “summer camp” .
