My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet one of the Queen Elizabeth puppies, so named because we rescued them on the day that Queen Elizabeth passed away. We rescued mom and her 10 puppies from animal control. They were surrendered by someone who had them but could not care for them.

Mama Elizabeth appears to be possibly a Mountain Cur/Redbone Coonhound (or some general unknown Shepherd mix) and is a nice, medium-sized girl. She weighs 57 lbs, but looks smaller. If her puppies have mama's temperament, they are going to be some of the best family pups ever. Based on the looks (coloring and fluffy coats) of a lot of the puppies, we believe dad must be an Australian Shepherd. The puppies will likely be medium-sized adult dogs (50 to 60 lbs?)

We think all young puppies should be fine with children and cats if they grow up with them, but they have not been around them yet. Children under 5 are not generally a good idea for a young puppy unless it is with an experienced adopter who knows how to train both the children and the puppy well to avoid anyone being hurt by little puppy claws and teeth.

All of the puppies are very sweet and social. They are happy to see people and to be cuddled. We can't call them house-trained, but they are doing great using the doggy door and do potty outside consistently, so they do have a head start on the process.

If you think you might want to give this sweet pup a home, please email jojosdogrescue@gmail.com and we will send you an application, or visit our website: www.jojosdoghouse.com and download one. Adoption fee is $250, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, parasite treatment, and microchip with lifetime registration.

Please visit our Facebook page JoJo's DogHouse (non-profit) to learn more about us and see many of the dogs we have rescued. We hope you'll join JoJo's family of adopters.
