My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Angus!

*Angus' adoption fee is being sponsored by an anonymous donor.

Angus is an approximately 2 year old, 40 lbs. labradoodle. Angus has a sad story, but this has never deterred him from being the sweetest, most affectionate, kind, and fun loving dog in the entire world. And so incredibly smart to boot!

You see, Angus was owned --- till he was hit by a car. The accident was so bad that it shattered his right leg and pelvis and left him paralyzed in the rear. It also left him both fecal and urinary incontinent. The shattered leg was removed leaving him with three legs. The remaining leg has deep tissue sensation and while it does not get used like you would expect a normal leg to work, Angus does use it to balance himself and it has actually gained a small amount of movement. The vet said there is the potential that it could continue to gain movement.

You will never find a more resilient dog than Angus! It’s his middle name, and nothing in the whole world stops this boy from leading a very normal active life. He loves other dogs, loves ALL people, and even loves to run and play, and we would almost bet miney that he's good with cats, as he has zero prey drive, but instead love for everything. He is the very best boy who just needs a family willing to give him a little extra.

Angus will require diapers daily. A couple of times a day, he will also need help with expressing his bladder. Currently he is being expressed about 2-3 times daily. He is also eating a raw freeze dried diet, which helps give him nice solid bowel movements and not as many as you would get with less quality dog food. Angus does not require crating when left alone and is very smart and well behaved. He even knows when you need to change him, and lays down for you and helps you get his diaper on. The whole process takes only a few brief minutes. Angus does take medication daily to help his bladder to be expressed easier and cranberry supplements to help prevent UTI’s. He has also been seen by a neurologist who has confirmed that Angus is what Angus is and he should just live his very best life!

The only thing in the whole world that Angus is missing now is a forever family! Is that forever family you?

Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
