My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Black Pearl is a silly, sweet, loving girl that is easy to love. She came to the shelter with only one eye and it is clear she has long since adapted well.

She has been in a foster home for over 2 months and it was apparent from the beginning that she needs training in almost everything. She now is potty trained and crate trained. She does not pull on a leash but is still working on zig zagging on walks- but hey! Life is exciting, who can blame her for wanting to explore!

She is very food motivated so we keep everything that might interest her out of sight. This does help with training though. She will gladly try to learn any positive behavior for a treat!
She has crazy moments of extreme energy so a fenced in yard is best for her. She loves to wrestle and play and our resident dog has taken a liking to her and they wrestle together. Black Pearl is about 40 pounds and our dog is an 80 pound husky/shepherd mix who didn't like other dogs that much. She would love a home with a dog or dogs to play with.

She is still working on her manners, but is eager to please! She loves to cuddle and loves following her humans everywhere. She is very nosy and wants to be a part of everything. If her humans are out of sight she can be a it nervous about missing out on the fun, but does well in her crate! Her fosters are retired so she has never had to be in her crate for more than 4 hours. She likes to sleep in our bed at night but I think she would be okay in a crate in the same room where she can see you.

I can't stress enough that she is easy to fall in love with because of her personality and her cute face, silly ears and her one eye. She is a work in progress for one lucky adopter (but hey, aren't we all?)- so if you are interested in Black Pearl, apply today!
