My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hi to Tanner!

This handsome guy is about 2 years old and weighs around 35lbs. He was found as a stray, so we don’t know his background, but after a few days in his foster home, we can tell you that he’s a very good boy!

Tanner's a very friendly boy, who loves people and is a huge cuddler! He's also excellent with other dogs and great with kids - but he might not be the best with little ones, only because he might jump if he’s excited. You couldn’t ask for a better walking friend! He walks incredibly well on a leash and so far he hasn't been bothered by distractions. Tanner can be very playful and excitable, but he's very relaxed and happy to take a nap.

Tanner is fully house trained and working on manners and he's doing a fantastic job! He's still fairly young and may sneak a sock and shoe if you're not watching 😊 He doesn't really bark much, but he does have a little bit of anxiety and whines and cries when he gets anxious, or when he's excited. He does like to sing and his foster family thinks he's a hound mix; they also suspect a previous home may not have understood that howling and singing are natural characteristics of his breed, and he was likely punished for it.

He doesn't appear to be destructive, but his foster doesn't recommend leaving him out in the house when no one's home. We would also not advise leaving him in a fenced area, as he would likely get bored or anxious and want to dig. He crates easily though, and hardly makes a peep. He's very happy to sleep in your bed and doesn't have accidents during the night.

Tanner's left eye is permanently blind, from what appears to be a past injury, but it doesn't bother him and isn't expected to require any future treatment.

We look forward to Tanner finding a forever family that will understand and appreciate him; in turn, he will thank you with his love, affection and funny little antics!
