My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hercules is an adult, neutered male cat, born in April 2019.  He is a large, handsome steel gray tabby cat.  He was adopted from us as a kitten and ended up back at the shelter through no fault of his own.

Hercules is kind of a big baby.  He had a rough few months with us- a GI problem that required three weeks of bitter, bitter medicine followed by a fecal transplant with Dr. Charly.  He's feeling 100% better, although he still doesn't like hands coming at his face (they might be hiding the bitter medicine).  Once he knows that there are no pills or potions coming his way, he become a huge ball of mush.  He freezes for a few moments, but if you speak softly and stroke his back, telling him how handsome he is, he visibly relaxes and leans into your hands. He desperately wants those pets and the physical contact, as long as there's no restraint or pilling.  Over time, he will probably forget being dosed and just enjoy being held and cuddled because he's got the soul of a teddy bear.  Right now, Hercules will probably do best in a home with just adults or with gentle older children, just because of the hands-in-his-face thing.
