My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!!!

DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND PLEASE EMAIL ONLY, NO CALLS PLEASE.

NO SHIPPING!!!

 NO BREEDERS!!!

Email BurgeBirdRescue@yahoo.com for an adoption application.

Please allow up to two weeks for a response as we have been receiving a large volume of messages about our birds!

The adoption fee is $10.

Our birds are not available for breeding and we do not ship birds, so you must travel to our south Kansas City area facility. Potential adopters must email us at BurgeBirdRescue@yahoo.com for an appointment, fill out an adoption application, and pass a screening interview to ensure that our birds are going to a safe home. There is usually a 48 hour waiting period after your interview before you are allowed to adopt because we want people to take time and think thru their decision.   All birds come with a 30 day health guarantee and return policy, and have been examined and tested by our avian veterinarian.

More about this rescue

Burge Bird Rescue is attached to Burge Bird Services, a 100% avian veterinary hospital in the south Kansas City Missouri area. We are a no-kill nonprofit shelter for all kinds of birds from finches to macaws, from pigeons to ducks. Many of our birds have special needs, and no bird is ever turned away due to medical issues. In 2013 we helped over 300 birds in need!
