My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jet, the high-flying Siberian Husky Mix ready to soar into your heart! This 53-pound bundle of energy and love is on a quest for his furever family after an adventurous journey.

Originally jetting in from another facility, Jet's past remains a mystery, but one thing is certain - he's a charming boy with a heart as big as his spirit. Adopted and returned after 2 weeks due to allergies, Jet spent over a year in a foster home, honing his skills (attended obedience training) and preparing for the next chapter of his life.

Jet is no stranger to the comforts of home; he was given the freedom to roam in his foster home and is proud to claim housetrained status. Living harmoniously with other dogs, Jet is easygoing, friendly, and a fan of rough play, however, his exposure to feline friends is unknown. He has exposure with children aged 13-17 and was noted to be playful and friendly with them. Jet does tend to lean towards a bit of roughhousing, making him better suited for homes with older children, 15 years and above.

This handsome Husky Mix has aced obedience training classes, boasting skills in sit, stay, come, and the all-important "no" command. His active nature and high energy level make him a lively companion, and he thrives with a family ready to reinforce his training. Well-behaved on a leash, Jet's walks are filled with curiosity as he sniffs out new doggie friends.

Jet is best described as an active, playful, friendly, and loving social butterfly. His foster, ever supportive, wants potential adopters to know that Jet's trainer is offering free refresher tips and advice post-adoption - a testament to the commitment to his success.

If you're ready for a furry co-pilot, Jet is eager to join your adventure! Swing by to meet this charming boy and witness the magic he brings to your life! (mf 12/11/23)

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
