My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
You’ll never be bored
With a good boy like Stew.

Friends, meet our sweet boy Stewie. This young man has it all… Dashingly handsome, great temperament with other dogs and kiddos, and super affectionate. At just around a year old, Stew is pretty much a big puppy that’s better behaved than his wee baby counterparts. He’s house and crate trained, walks well on leash, and LOVES LOVES LOVES to play, especially with other pup friends. But he is indeed a young guy that loves and needs daily activity to be his best self. We’re not talking about a daily marathon, but Stew would love a home with space to run and would really thrive with another active dog to show him the ropes. And after a day of fun and excitement, Stew transitions pretty seamlessly from star athlete to grade A snuggle bunny. This boy really loves all the affection he can get, and is a sucker for belly rubs and butt scratchins’. Stew’s foster mom raves about how much he's grown while he's been in foster, and he’s proven to be an intelligent, motivated sweetheart that's eager to please his people.
While in foster, we found that Stew had some issues with his eye sight. He has been diagnosed with Progressive Retinal Atrophy. He still has some vision at this point but he will likely eventually go blind. The vet has advised that there is really nothing that can be done for it but he's not in any sort of pain and will be able to have a good quality of life.
Stew brings all the fun and spunk of a puppy without the mayhem, and would be an awesome addition to a family looking for a sweet dog to grow up with. Read on to learn more about making Stewie a part of your family.

Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pup’s with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event!

The adoption fee is $450 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
