Meet Bodhi
Amazing dog alert… Bodhi is a handsome dog we rescued from a kill shelter, along with his friend Misty. We’re not sure how he found himself there, but he is ready to find his forever loving family. He is such a great little dog. He has a beautiful coat and coloring, mostly black, but with hints of brown and a touch of white on his chin and chest.
Bodhi is thought to be a three-year-old Rat Terrier/Jack Russel mix (with maybe a little dachshund mixed in). He weighs about 25 lbs. He has a gorgeous shiny black coat and a handsome face with curious and alert eyes. Bodhi loves people. He loves attention. He absolutely loves to snuggle and if you are looking for a lap dog, Bodhi is definitely your boy.Bodhi is smart and has a curious nature. His curiosity could get the better of him and he’ll need a fenced yard to keep him safe. He seems to be house-trained. He has terrific manners. Bodhi seems to like other dogs, especially his friend Misty, and is friendly toward cats.
Bodhi has obviously been loved previously in his life, and he loves car rides and going for walks. He enjoys anything where he gets to be with his people. Bodhi has captured our hearts in the short time he’s been with us. He has an outgoing personality and likes to be social. This little nugget is a keeper and will make for a wonderful family companion.

Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship or transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and rescued from local area Animal Controls. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
