My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INDOOR ONLY HOMES PLEASE

Pepper & Pika are both baby girl rex rabbits born at the rescue on September 6, 2022. Their momma (Pandora) was dumped/rescued on September 2, 2022 from a park in Garden Grove known for frequent rabbit dumping. She was huge and we knew delivery was imminent.

They have been at a foster home and are VERY socialized baby bunnies. They LOVE to snuggle and are anxious for you to pay attention to them! They would make excellent companion pets for the first -time rabbit owner or a busy household as they have each other to pal around with. They are just the SWEETEST little cuddle bugs!

Of course, the silky, plush, rex fur is to die for! If you've never felt a rex rabbit, you're in for a treat! Also, rex rabbits are known to be less allergenic than other rabbits because of their specific type of fur.

Baby rabbits should eat alfalfa hay and have young rabbit pellets until approximately eight months of age. After that, they should have timothy or orchard hay and adult rabbit pellets.

These precious girls are available on a foster-to-adopt basis until their spay surgeries at approximately 5 months of age (February 2023). You would bring them back to the rescue the day before their spay appointments so they can be transported the next day to their appointments. They can recover at the rescue for a night or two if you like. After the spay, the adoption is finalized.

They should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. They can have that as their home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it.

Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit.

They can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted.

PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you’ve never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies!
