Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pebbles is ready for a forever home! She’s a super sweet, gentle, kid safe, 24 year old registered Quarter Horse mare. She’s had kids as young as four years old lead her, clean out her hooves, and ride her independently!
Pebbles would be perfect as a companion horse that you can let your youngest kid or grandkid learn to ride on! Or she could just be the perfect gentle pet for someone who doesn’t care to ride.
Pebbled was previously foundered and then developed a severe abscess which we treated her for, and is now pasture sound and suitable for short rides with kids or a small adult. She takes a daily pill for PPID (Cushing’s) and wears Soft Rider shoes.
Pebbles’ adoption fee is negotiable to the ideal home and we would accept alfalfa hay for the other horses as part or all of her adoption fee. (With negotiable adoption fees, we consider offers of $500 or more, and place the horse with the home we feel is best for that horse).
Our horses have received their basic vaccinations (Rabies vaccine, EWT combo vaccine) at the time of adoption. They have been dewormed and have a negative Coggins test as well. All horses have received a hoof assessment and trimming. Horses are also microchipped.
We do our best to determine what amount of training they have had and to represent them as accurately as possible. However, we usually do not know the history of our horses, so we determine training by how the horses act after we get them. Please call ahead or email to set up a time to meet our horses if you are interested in adopting. They are at foster homes so we may need up to a couple days notice in order to schedule a time for you to see them.
We desire for our horses to find a good home where the horse will be a good fit with the person adoption him/her. With that goal in mind, we do our best to accurately represent everything, good and bad, with our horses.
CARE provides one week free boarding until you can pick up your new horse. Adoption fees are sometimes negotiable to the right home. For more information, please email us at drkathyjordan@yahoo.com You can see our adoption applications and and more info about our rescue on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org. To make the adoption process faster, please submit an adoption application through our website. This in no way obligates you - it simply gets you approved to meet/adopt our horses.
