My story

Indigo is a female German Shepherd mix.
born approximately August 2019.
She can be a bit shy and reserved when initially meeting new people (typical shepherd trait) but once she feels comfortable-she will show you just how much of a love bug she can be!
She settles in quickly with new dogs and instantly wants to play-we do require she goes to a home with another playful canine companion. This will also help ensure her confidence in people and new situations progresses positively. She does great with kids and really enjoys their company. Indigo has never been around cats/rabbits or small prey type animals-we cannot say if she has a high prey drive or not. Indigo will require a home with a secure fenced yard. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
