A little about Lucy...
Lucy is a very sweet girl with a few adorable quirks. She hops like a bunny when she's excited, doesn't quite understand backing up so she'll cry for help if she feels stuck, and she loves to dump her food onto the ground rather than eat out of her bowl. She's a little socially awkward and probably didn't get the training and socialization she needed early on but Lucy LOVES to be held and wants to be with people. She'll happily sleep on my lap and let me carry her around but she'll settle into her kennel at night to sleep.
Lucy is healthy but may have had a previous neck injury that appears to be healed and the vet doesn't think it causes her any pain. Her knees luxate which gives her an odd gait at times but she'll happily jump and hop around. Her hearing and sight appear to be somewhat impaired but she does respond to loud noises and mostly seems to have issues with depth perception and dim lighting. Lucy gets along just fine but may occasionally cry for help if she gets stuck in a spot or needs help getting off the furniture. She's also been getting medicated baths to help her itchy skin that seems to be helping.
Lucy is crate trained and will cry to be let outside when she has to go potty. She also cries when she's on the couch to let you know she needs to go outside. Lucy has had a few accidents but when taken outside regularly, she does very well.
Lucy loves people and will make a great companion. Young children are not recommended though as she can be nippy and grab treats too hard. She takes treats best from an open hand. She has some food aggression but is doing much better now that she knows there's plenty of food and I've been working on feeding her by hand.
Lucy gets along great with our big patient dogs and she ignores the cats. She tries to dominate small dogs but has become friends with one of the more submissive small dogs after a week of interaction. An in-home meet n' greet is required to see how Lucy gets along with resident pets.
