My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Tybee, a handsome and sweet boxer mix. I am actually what is called a reverse brindle in the Boxer world. I’m 3 years old, 80 lbs., and brown/black brindle with white in color. I’m looking for my forever home where I can be your loyal and curious companion.

I’m a friendly and playful boy who is good with children. My foster home has rabbits, chinchillas, sugar gliders, rats, and guinea pigs and I haven’t bothered any of them. I am fine with cats and won’t bother them at all. I’m house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, and I know basic commands of sit, stay, and down. I would benefit further with more training as I really bond well when working and am one of those dogs who enjoys a job.

I’m neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, so I’m healthy and happy. I’m highly treat-motivated and I will sit at street crossings. I will also try to sit during our walk and try to get extra treats from you. I love to run and jog and would do great with an active family.

I’m a special boy who is good with female dogs but not with large male dogs. I recommend slow introductions to make sure I get along with other dogs. I can pull on the leash a bit if I want to get to something, so please be patient with me. I’m great with children, but I recommend older ones due to my size. I’m working on my mouthing where I playfully chew on hands, but I don’t mean any harm. I’m a sweet, curious boy who wants to be loved.

I’m a wonderful dog who has the entire staff at my veterinary office madly in love with me and my great personality. I ride very well in the car in my crate. I’m currently in Mebane, NC, but I can be transported out of state to the right home.
If you’re looking for a loyal and curious companion, I’m your boy. Fill out an application and my rescue will connect you to my foster to learn more about me. I can’t wait to meet you!

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
