My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Queenie's foster is committed to helping her find a home. To begin the adoption process, please reach out to her foster directly at: FosterFurMommy@gmail.com

How this pet arrived:
Queenie was brought in by a Good Samaritan on October 14, 2022.

At SDHS:
Queenie has been vaccinated, microchipped and is spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet sweet Queenie! Queenie is a shy mermaid that is looking for a calm home where she can settle in, feel safe, and thrive. New people and new places can cause anxiety for Queenie, so slow introductions and lots of positive re-enforcement will be so important! This lovely girl will need an adult only home where all members of the household can read and appropriately respond to her body language. Patience, consistency, snuggles, and swimming will be the key to winning over this lady's heart. She loves to play in the water and drink from the water hose in her free time! We are sure that Queenie's true personality will blossom and she will show you what a beautiful soul she is. Did we mention she LOVES to play in the water? If you have the sanctuary that Queenie is looking for, reach out to the email address listed above!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
