Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This big, beautiful boy has a wild side, but he's willing to be tamed! Tracker is a handsome shepherd with a handsome personality. He's big, he's bold, he's playful, he's delightful and he still sometimes takes a walk on the wild side.
He came to us from Minneapolis where he had been picked up as a stray. A volunteer at the shelter noticed his potential as a working dog (high energy, intensity, boldness, drive) and stepped up to foster him while exploring working dog possibilities. We brought him out, fell in love, and then got our hearts broken when we discovered he wasn't cut out for our work after all--his drive and focus were a little 'tame' for what we need. Our loss, your gain!
His foster in Minnesota described him as: a great dog, adorable, wonderful, wild and very energetic. He lived in her household with 3 other dogs (after proper and managed introductions) and became friends with all of them. She was able to find ways to his off switch and he did mellow out considerably in her care.
Our staff describes him as: a goofball, wild (there's that word again!), spirited (maybe a euphemism for wild?), sweet, and handsome. They also say he will probably need continued leash work--he is strong!
He LOVES to play and will gladly fetch a ball anytime. He may not return the ball, but he will fetch it. He likes to tug and will tug with you or a dog friend. He LOVES a flirt pole (a stick with a flouncy thing on the end, like a giant cat toy). He allows affection here and there but is not super needy in that way.
If you're a shepherd aficionado, you can probably appreciate him even more, since he has so many of the qualities we love about shepherds...intelligence, loyalty, intensity, boldness, beauty.
If you'd like to take a walk on the wild side with this gorgeous guy, he is ready!
