My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello fine people of the world! It is so very nice to meet you. My name is Shuma, or as my foster mom likes to call me, Schooma Gooma. I am a beautiful female kitty with gorgeous, long, black-and-white fur. I was born on April 31, 2022. I came to the rescue with a really bad eye infection. Thankfully, the rescue got me to a specialist and now I feel so much better. And I really really do! My eye is still there, and doesn't do me much good anymore, but don't worry, it doesn't bother me one bit and it has no effect on my overall well-being. I am so sweet and loving, all I want to do is snuggle. When I see my foster parents on the couch, I jump up and gently tap their arm to let them know I am ready to receive love. When they lift their arms up, I will snuggle right in and stay there for as long as they let me. I really, really love other cats, and I get along very well with the big dog in my home. I always use the litter box like the good girl that I am. I would love to find a home where people want to snuggle with me, and I have at least one other cat friend. If you just give me a chance, I promise you'll fall in love and we will be best friends forever and ever. I look forward to meeting you! Apply today and you'll be so glad you did! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $110. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
