My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you need a little sparkle in your life? Well, then, your wait is over. Meet Sparkle, a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to run like the wind. She is a beautiful dog, blessed with big freckles that just beg to be kissed. We don't have any details on Sparkle's start in life, but it's clear that she was in a home, as she is totally housetrained and has very good house manners for a young dog. Sparkle is looking for an active family who will provide lots of playtime and outdoor exercise yet also give her an endless supply of tummy tickles. She is truly a sight to behold when she runs. Her grace and agility are poetry in motion, but since she can clear the yard of squirrels incredibly fast, she probably wouldn't be good with cats.

Sparkle settles down very nicely when she comes into the house, and she has quickly adapted to relaxing in the several dog beds throughout her foster home. She has bonded very quickly to her foster family, and her tail always wags when she meets someone new. Sparkle enjoys her squeaky toys without tearing them up. She also enjoys chasing a tennis ball outside, but she doesn't know how to retrieve the ball. Since Sparkle is a resource guarder, she needs to be in a single-dog home without young children. Sparkle's new family must commit to enrolling Sparkle in obedience training, as it appears that she isn't familiar with any commands and she does need structure. She is very inquisitive and should be a quick learner.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager. Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Sparkle.
