My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max is a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mixed with a “Lab” personality. He is black and tan, has a thin, lanky body like a Shepherd and the face is a mix between both breeds. He weighs about 65 lbs.
Max has a large, puppy-like personality with a carefree attitude. He absolutely loves people and is extremely outgoing. He loves to play with other dogs or with his human and toys. This happy go lucky, silly guy is as clumsy and goofy as they come. He would be the most excellent hiking dog or activity buddy because he loves to be out and about doing stuff and on the go. He enjoys rough housing with his doggy buddies and loves his chew toys and marrow bones. Max’s foster Dad calls him the ultimate cuddle bug, he’s a total lover. If another dog gets in his face, he’s very submissive and backs down.
Max is also very trainable as he is treat motivated and will do anything for food. He listens very well when told to stop and would thrive in a structured environment with boundaries and a dog playmate. He’s awesome in the car and good with other dogs and cats. He loves his walks and to explore. He is the true companion dog and wants a human best friend as he often follows his foster everywhere inside the house from room to room. After he’s gotten his exercise for the day, he goes back to his dog bed or the couch and chews on his toys. He loves to be brushed and lay on his human’s lap for some pets and love. When meeting new people, his most endearing move is to submissively roll over on his back for as many belly rubs as he can get. He is shy and submissive to new people that he meets on walks gently walking over to them for some sniffs and pets. Everyone compliments Max on how sweet and gentle he is. Overall, Max is one of the more fun dogs we have in rescue and will get you out there enjoying life together.
Max is microchipped, neutered, and currently vaccinated with no health issues. Max would be happiest in an active dog owner home with another dog to tussle and play with throughout the day. He would need a home/yard environment and someone that will give him plenty of stimulation and attention.
Max is very tolerable of his kitty roommates, his foster home has several cats. He is loving towards children (we recommend 5+). He is a dog’s dog and is happiest when he has a play buddy.
