My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NAME: Mr. Breakfast

BREED: Pit Bull/Mystery Mix

BIRTHDAY: 2011

WEIGHT: 50lbs

ADOPTION FEE: $200

When we saw Mr. Breakfast on Facebook, we were drawn to more than just his goofy name. The toothless grin, chewed-up ears, crusty cataract eyes... this is just our kind of guy. We asked for a cat and a dog test from the shelter, got the green light on both, and got Mr. Breakfast the heck out of South Carolina.

In foster care, Mr. Breakfast has been an absolute gem. He ignores the cats, plays with (and gets chomped by) the dogs, and loves all the people who come to visit him. He has done very well with house training, is crate trained (although not a fan of the crate), and relatively quiet.  Mr. Breakfast uses his remaining molars to chew bones and toys, enjoys spending time in the fenced yard, and rides well in the car. We keep walks to a minimum because of his heartworm, but he does like to go for short jaunts to explore the neighborhood.

Mr. Breakfast will need a patient and dedicated adopter to help him live his best life: GOT will pay for heartworm treatments (we are doing slow-kill because of his age and heart issues, which is just Advantage Multi each month). What this guy really is looking for is someone who can be compassionate as he adjusts to life indoors, who doesn't mind doing a little extra laundry, and who can appreciate this wonderful dog because he deserves the whole world. If you can't adopt at this time, please consider sharing or donating to help us cover the cost of Mr. Breakfast's care!

More about this rescue

Good Old Tails Senior Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of senior dogs and cats in the Southern Pennsylvania/Northern Maryland areas.
We believe that senior animals deserve loving, caring homes where they will be taken care of the rest of their days.

Good Old Tails Senior Animal Rescue was founded in 2015 by a small group of animal lovers. Years of rescue showed us that the senior demographic in shelters is often the most overlooked and highly euthanized. These animals are discarded because of failing health, new pets in the family, a lack of time for attention and care, and countless other reasons which Good Old Tails finds deplorable. Pets are a commitment for life, not until they are an inconvenience. We are dedicated to saving as many senior dogs and cats as we can, and providing them with love and care so that they can live out the rest of their days with dignity and happiness. Some of these animals may never leave our rescue, and their foster families will be the ones to say the last good-bye. Others will go on to find families of their own. Whatever the outcome, we have made the promise to them that they will never again be alone.
