Hi, I’m Maddie and I am looking for my forever home. I am very sweet and loving. I like people and do not bark at them when they come in the house. I get a little excited because I want them to like me, but I am friendly.
I like everyone, men, women, children even plumbers and painters. I bark a little at people who walk by the house but not at ones that come inside. But I stop barking when I am told as I listen pretty well.
I enjoy my day. I am not allowed on furniture at my foster's except for 2 times. When the alarm goes off I go to my foster mom's bed to wake her, and she lets me come on the bed and cuddle. Then I go outside, but I have been taught door manners and I wait until I am told I can go out the door. I love to play in the yard. I play with my toys and have been taught to play fetch.
I love treats and really love toys and I learn quickly to get the treats. I appreciate my toys so much I want my foster mom to know so I take them apart to show her the squeaker. After breakfast I get my “good mornings” and I get love and cuddles on the chair. That is my favorite part of the day, and I will lay in his lap for as long as he will let me. I spend my day either playing in the yard or supervising my foster mom while she works. Give me a rug or a bed and I am happy.
I am told I am a very good girl and I love attention. I learn quickly, I do not chew or destroy things. I do not like the crate, but I do not need one. I am very good in the house and if I need to stay in 1 place, I respect the baby gate. I am very very smart and learn quickly but I am also so smart that I catch on and adapt, which is where the treats come in. When I am in the yard I “frolic” and want to play with the squirrels, birds, and lizards, but they won’t play. I will walk on a leash, and we are working on me not pulling. I am very good on car rides and while baths are not my favorite I will stay still and love how I feel when it is done.
When I was at the shelter, I was in a kennel with other dogs, but my foster family does not have any. I am not aggressive and am sure I would play well with others. When I see other dogs on walks, I do bark a little but am friendly, I just need more time on walks. I would be a great addition to any type of household, so please pick me!! I want a family to love and spend my time with.
