My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We must have an application to move forward.

In foster in Olympia, WA

BACARDI is a 3yr old, female Boston Terrier. She is super sweet and affectionate. She gets along with all the dogs although she can get a little pushy. She is 19#s…but doesn’t know she’s small. We are working on the house training. She leaves my 5 cats alone and has called “dubs” on my reclining lounge chair. She is a great companion for a couple or single. I don’t recommend young children because she hasn’t been around them before. She did come to us from a “bartender”… thus the name…but she knows it and it works.

Besides the typical vetting, Bacardi did have what is called a Cherry Eye... very common among the pop-eyed dogs. This was surgically corrected. Also, there was an injury to the eye which the vet addressed with medication and we did testing to see if there were any vision problems...there were none. The abrasion is healed and the "blueness" to eye should go away in time. Bacardi's medical records have the report from the vet.

Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention.

If you have any questions it is best to apply but you can text the rescuer (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060.

If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying.

Adoption Fees
The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting.

All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog.

HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/

This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose.

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
