My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Salem is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian.
Salem is a good cat. It took her a couple weeks to get used to us and our other animals, but she eventually did. She kind of stayed to her own but she'll play with them some. She wants to be pet and things like that but she does not like to be picked up. I think maybe she was hurt before and it scares her. Once she gets to know you she's a pretty sweet cat and she doesn't bother you too much. She's not too needy but she does like to be petted sometimes. She's around my daughter all the time and other people so she doesn't seem to act aggressive towards them. The only thing she's ever done is hiss at my kitten a little when he's bothering her. I'm not sure if she likes dogs too well but I'm sure she could get used to them.

More about this shelter

The shelter has very active volunteer and foster programs. Volunteers walk dogs and help with cat care. Fosters take young, shy and injured animals into their homes to prepare them for adoption. Learn more on our website and consider getting involved today!
