We first met her in late November of 2022. She was a puppy mill mama, terrified of human contact but wanting love so badly. Already 6 years old, adding anxiety on top of unsocialization made us think that she would be with us for a very long time.
We were pleasantly surprised when just one month later, we received a late Christmas miracle! She was adopted and off to live her forever life, finally.
All seemed great for a bit. She was adjusting well in her new home, still scared, but she seemed to be coming around? We didn't hear anything about her until March 23, 2024, when Elsa was returned back to us, due to anxiety in her home.
After being a puppy mill mama for years, to being homed for 15 months, to abruptly returning to shelter life, Elsa is more anxious than ever.
So we're searching for help. We are looking for a DEDICATED foster or adoptive home, who will understand what Elsa needs and help to work with her to show her the patience and love she deserves.
She is VERY timid, but has not shown any signs of aggression in our care. She is potty trained and will need a fenced in yard, although she seems to be more anxious while outside and prefers to come right back inside after she potties. She previously lived with another dog and *may* be dog selective (or prefer a dog with a similar temperament), and ignores our 2 shop cats.
We recommend no children or older children, as quick movements do startle her. We know there is SUCH a loving girl inside of Elsa; please help us to bring that out in her! She deserves her REAL forever and we are committed to getting it right this time.

All rescues are professionally veterinarian checked, Blood panel check (if needed), dental check up, heart-worm tested, flea/tick and heart worm treatment, wormed, micro-chipped, spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and professionally Groomed.. All our rescues are housed in a clean warm loving environment with plenty of toys, food and freshwater, warm beds and blankets and lots of staff TLC while they are in our care. When we find the right matched home, we send all of our rescues home with a swag bag of everything they need to get them started in their new homes. Approved Adoption Application required & Adoption fee apply.
