Ace is a very good boy with lots of love to give. He is very snuggly and loves to be around his people!

Besides cuddling, Ace also loves playing fetch - he`s very athletic.

His foster says, `Generally he is very well behaved and obedient and has very cute snorts of happiness when he’s cuddling and gazing dreamily up at you. He’s very photogenic but hates phones and cameras so I have to snap pics in secret. He gets very excited about new bandanas and likes to pick them out and is very fashionable with outfits!`

Ace previously lived with another dog; we`ll be happy to set up a meet and greet to make sure it`s a good match.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

Go meet their pets

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00am to 7:00pm. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
