My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mallory's still skittish, especially around the kids. When they're asleep, she comes out and wiggles on the ground in front of you asking for pets. She's not a voluntary lap cat, but she'll be coerced, and she can be held... she's just not super comfortable in your arms. She's very smart and talkative! She meows when the food bowl is empty and when she wants affection. And it's a little meow, like her (she's so tiny). She likes to hide. Her favorite spot is in our closet... she's so good at finding new places it's hard to find her sometimes. She's curious about our dogs, and some nights she'll sleep in our bed. While she doesn't demand a lot of attention, she really purrs and seems happiest when it's just her and I. I don't think she's completely comfortable at our house because of the activity level (kids, dogs), hence the hiding, but you can tell she has it in her to bond to a person. I see little signs of her being playful, climbing/being agile, and actively wanting affection, but it's kept at bay a lot by an overarching nervousness. Would love to see her come out of her shell. We think Mallory would be happiest in a quiet home, with one or two adults.
