Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Charley is a 1-year-old Yorkie/shih tzu (?) mix, 13 lbs, who was surrendered to us by an owner whose work schedule meant Charley was in a crate daily for more than 12 hours at a time - no life for a dog, especially not a young energetic one like Charley. This guy is like a flea - always running and jumping, rarely settling unless he’s made to.
He’s doing great with his house training, and will do all his business outside if he’s given frequent potty breaks. He prefers a large crate, or to be gated in a room…a small crate triggers his guarding/sense of confinement and he gets very spicy.
Charley is a barker, and he loves the other dogs in his foster home. He has been good with a child but he is obsessed with a toy ball and all bets are off if fingers are in the way, so we are seeking a home with older children, if any, for Charley. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
If you’re looking for a gentle little lap dog, Charley ain’t it, but he’s a sweet and playful little dog who deserves to be part of a family, not locked in a cage.
