Finlee is a two year old male, Australian Shepherd. . He was picked up as a stray and tested positive for heartworms. He has since been through his treatment and is cleared and now ready to find his Furever home.
Finlee is a big goofy boy, weighing about 50lbs, who likes to be with his person/people. He is full of energy and curiosity. He is looking for a home ready to play hard and exercise as he is still a puppy at heart.
Finlee loves attention and is food motivated so someone that has the time to train with him either in group classes or private sessions would be very beneficial for him and is highly recommended.
Finlee plays well with dogs his size and more mellow in temperament so he will not do well in a home with a dog that is Alpha-personality. He is also not good with small dogs or cats and will chase them. Finlee could also be fine as an only dog. So a fenced in yard of his own versus a dog-park environment is recommend. We also recommend he be in a home with older kids as smaller ones can confuse him.
Finlee is good on leash but can be reactive, barking, at other dogs while out and about. So someone with knowledge of the breed and time to train with him is very important. He rides well in a car, is house trained and crate trained, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm flea and tick prevention, neutered and microchipped.
