Meet Ace! Ace is a mixed breed dog (we believe Border Collie x Am Staff but we aren't entirely sure). He came back to us recently after being adopted over 2 years ago. Ace was born approximately 2/11/14 based on his previous records. He has unfortunately been through a multitude of homes and shelter stays in his almost 9 years of life, and we want this placement to be his final one. Ace has done nothing wrong besides being a high drive boy with smarts. Many people unfortunately don't enjoy or can't handle that particular kind of dog. We have learned many things about Ace, that will hopefully help any new owners with transitioning him into the home. Firstly, Ace is NOT cat friendly. I would also say no small dogs or any other "small animal" pets in the home. Secondly, Ace LOVES people. He wants to be near his people all of the time, and does have a bit of separation anxiety. Luckily for adopters, he comes with a heavy duty practically escape proof crate he does quite well with. This comes at no charge to his new owners. Ace is a really great boy, but needs a home who enjoys a dog who is smart, and energetic and thinks for himself. He is a small/medium dude at just 45 lbs optimal weight (kennel stress has him down to about 40 lbs). Ace was reported to be housetrained in his prior home, and knows basic commands and takes treats nicely when asked. When he isn't being a busy bee he enjoys bully sticks and other toys/treats to occupy his mind. His adoption fee is just $75 to the right home.
