My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Bree, formerly known as Jinx! We realized that the name Jinx wasn't quite right for her. It felt like it didn't capture her true essence. So, with hearts full of hope and a desire for her to find her perfect match, we made a decision. We let her mentor, Ken, rename her. And thus, Bree was born. In Irish and Gaelic, Bree is derived from the name Brígh, meaning "power" or "strength." This new name carries a weight of significance, reflecting the resilience and spirit that radiates from her soul.

This adorable girl, weighing only 38 pounds, is pint-sized but overflowing with enthusiasm and affection. She loves going on outdoor adventures and is like a little explorer, delighting in every leaf, twig, and squirrel she encounters. Playtime is her domain-she's the reigning champion of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies. But there's more to Bree than just fun and games. She's also a budding genius in doggie tricks, learning new ones faster than you can say "sit, stay, roll over!" Guided by her mentor Ken, she's his star pupil, fueled by the tasty treats he showers her with.

Bree is on a mission to find her forever home-a sanctuary filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Her ideal home would be one that is feline-free with kids who are at least 12 years old. While she's friendly with other dogs, her exuberant play style might be too much for some mellow pups to handle. Nonetheless, Bree is always up for making new friends! Prospective adopters are encouraged to bring their dog along for a meet and greet at the shelter.

If you're ready to embrace a ray of sunshine in your life, look no further than Bree. Adopt her today and embark on a journey filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
