My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This cutie was found as a stray and pulled from a shelter in rural Georgia. He a happy little short fella. This is what his foster has to say about him:

Introducing 'Huck', formerly Sammy. He and another wandered up as strays on a very rural country road. Huck gets along with both big and small dogs as well as cats.  After introductions, he is a lap baby but also enjoys a good game of tug. Unsure about children under 6 unless they are small dog savvy. He is house broken and kennel trained but is not destructive. His age is estimated to be 2 or 3 and that seems accurate.  He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines, now he just needs to find his people.

Huck was neutered and found to be heartworm positive. He is undergoing a Slow kill method of treatment. He will be provided 30 days of doxycycline which is an oral antibiotic, as well as one years worth of heartworm prevention provided at adoptio. After one year, a retest can be done at the rescues expense (at our vet) and additional heartworm preventiob provide it is still positive!
