Hopper was brought to a shelter with a leg injury. His disposition is so sweet and friendly, he never showed pain, but he felt it. A veterinarian determined amputation was the best recourse. Arthritis was in the joint and it wasn’t going to heal. There is a chance he will get arthritis in other joints, but it’s not certain. Hopper is so fast on three legs, he can run, jump, and play--nothing stops him.
Hopper loves to sleep on the bed next to his foster mom. He appreciates petting through the day but he’s not demanding about it. He loves food, so he will be interested in helping you finish yours! Hopper is great with other cats and doesn’t start or participate in fights. This is great because he’s FIV positive, meaning he has a lower immune system than most cats. FIV transfer is through deep bite wounds and blood, so not being a fighter means Hopper is unlikely to spread the virus. He can live a long life, but his owners should watch for any illness and make sure he gets veterinary care. Ask if you have any questions about FIV. It can sound scary but it’s not going to stop Hopper from being a great, loving pet.
Hopper should be good around dogs and kids after proper introductions and time to adjust. Hopper has a very laid-back personality and is pretty relaxed.
Hopper was born approximately January 15, 2022, and his adoption fee is $105, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see this sweetheart at our adoption center this weekend!
