My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eloise (born 9/26/2015) is a 7-year-old, 14 pound, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Eloise was rescued from a breeding facility where she was going to be euthanized because she was deemed no longer useful for breeding. She has a heart condition and needed medical care which she never received at the breeding facility. HSNY’s doctors diagnosed Eloise with a severe chronic degenerative valve disorder with regurgitation. Her heart condition will require her to take medication daily for the rest of her life and to be monitored medically on at least a semi-annual basis. Eloise is still under medical care at HSNY, but we are starting to take applications for when she will be ready to go home. Eloise is quiet, calm, loving and sweet – she loves being petted and sitting on your lap!
We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. Once a completed application is received, the HSNY Adoption Team will review it and we will contact you if we are going to take next steps.
