Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LILAC ~~Pitbull Mix, Spayed Female, Fawn and White with a Black Mask, 44 pounds, DOB:3/7/2022.
OTHER PETS: Must be an only pet. Lilac wants all the attention for herself. She should do fine in a home with older children (she may excitedly jump up on smaller kids to give “excited nibbles” sometimes).
FUN FACTS: Lilac absolutely adores people and has a tail that is in constant motion. She has the cutest "eyebrows" and is so expressive when she looks at you with her beautiful brown eyes. She's affectionate and thinks she is a lap dog ~~and she is just the right size to be one! She gives kisses with or without being asked, and will roll onto her back for a nice, long belly rub.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Cuddly, smart and eager to please, loves learning new commands, social, energetic and playful, friendly, loving, food and treat motivated.
Lilac would love to have her own fenced backyard to play and run around in so she can burn some energy before cuddling with you to watch a movie. She enjoys tough chew toys and anything made for a "super chewer." Lilac will be your best friend if you have a couple to spare!
ADOPTION FEE: $65. Her adoption fee includes one month of Simparica Trio (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites). She's up to date on vet services, vaccines and is microchipped. We are offering ½ off all adoption fees for pets one year and older to welcome Summer!
Lilac is healthy, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and vet services, has been spayed and microchipped. If you're looking for a devoted companion to share your life with, come and meet Lilac! To meet this sweet and loving girl, come visit and see if she is a good match for you!

Our goal is to find good homes for all of the sick and injured pets we have, and to adopt them out in the best health possible. Each pet is fully vetted and cared for by our amazing Veterinary Staff! Our adoption fee is $130, which includes a spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, and a microchip. We offer a two week trial period, during which time you may return the pet for a full refund if the placement does not work out. We will accept a pet back after two weeks, but no refund will be issued. If a pet is returned after a longer time period we may require a $130 relinquishment fee. We do not perform home visits or have any particular adoption requirements, such as fenced yard. We do, however, reserve the right to turn down potential adopters if we feel like it will not be in the best interest of the pet.

More about this rescue
Our Stray Program began in 1988, with one dog named Redman. He was rescued by a client who indicated that he had belonged to a homeless man. The man had since disappeared, and the red Chow was ill and now living on his own. We brought him to our Clinic and named him Redman. He tested heartworm positive, was treated for that condition and was also neutered. One of our Veterinarians fell in love and adopted him. Unfortunately, Redman did not live long due to heartworm disease, but enjoyed several great years with his new owner. It was because of Redman that our Stray Program for sick and injured animals came to fruition. We began a fund to support the Program and, since then, have found many sick and injured pets their forever homes! Thanks to Dr. Joe Gaston, we are able to continue our work to help sick and injured strays, and have the opportunity to give back to our pet community!
