My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brindy, the epitome of affection and love! This delightful female family dog is a true love bug, showering affection on everyone she meets. While initially a bit shy, Brindy quickly warms up once she feels comfortable in her surroundings. She's not just a bundle of love; she's also a smart cookie who knows some impressive tricks.

Brindy is seeking a forever home with a family dedicated to continuing her training journey. Her sweet nature and quick learning abilities make her an ideal companion for those willing to invest time and effort into shaping her into the perfect family member. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend who will fill your life with joy, Brindy is the perfect match for you!

Brindy is also eligible for foster care, sign up to foster here! https://forms.gle/oknYBjKJVYuQyb3D7

More about this shelter

The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.

For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.

The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
