My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SHAGGY

Maltese or Havanese Mix |  Small (11-15 lbs.)   | 1 Age/ Male  | Available for Adoption

Hello, my name is Shaggy! I have lots of energy and would be a good fit for a family that can take me on runs and walks to burn off some of my energy. Although I love to go on walks I need a little help with learning not to pull. Also, if you have another dog that I could play with that would be awesome too.

My foster Mom has other dogs and I really like playing with them. I'm learning what boundaries are and how to respect them. I love to play with other dogs and toys! I get super excited when I met new people and can tend to jump on them a little, I don't mean any harm I'm just happy to meet you.

I love to cuddle and my foster Mom says I'm  very affectionate and I love giving kisses.  I get a little scared when I'm alone, but as long as you let me know you are around I'll feel safe.

I gotta say, I love food and treats. My fosters say that I'm a fast learner because I picked up on how to "sit" and “down” really quickly.

I have had a lot of changes in my life. I ran away from my first home twice, which I guess makes me an escape artist, the first time my owners reclaimed me but not the second time. When I first came to the rescue I had separation anxiety, but it's gotten better. I would like a family that can be patient with me because sometimes my separation anxiety gets the best of Shaggy. I would like a family that will spend time with me and not leave him alone for long periods of time.

My foster says I would thrive with a family that can provide structure, reassurance that I will not be abandoned, time to train me, and lots of love. She says I'm a very sweet and loving dog. That I would do great in a home with another dog that can show him the ropes and play with me.

Please visit our website if you would like to submit an adoption application.

Shaggy's Adoption Donation Fee is $450.  Shaggy is neutered, current on all vaccinations has received a wellness exam, and is microchipped.
