Paris - German Shepherd - Female - 1.5 yrs - www.twyla.org
If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org
Paris is a 1.5 yr old Female German Shepherd who is full of life and energy. Like a typical Shepherd, she is smart, wants to please and learn, is high energy with a age appropriate short attention span. "A Diamond in the rough with a little dirt on it". Paris has the potential to make someone a wonderful companion, but it will take patience, work and time to get there.
Paris gets very excited when she meets other dogs, her initial greeting tends to be a little rude, but she is learning to back off when told by the other dog. She also get excited when meeting new people, she is still learning not to jump. She tends to lose her mind a little when she sees a cat (or a squirrel) and can be hard to refocus once she has seen them.
Paris is also an expert snuggler. She will curl up on the bed or sofa with you and wants snuggles, attention and will nap with you if allowed. She vocalized when she needs to go outside to do her business. She is learning to walk on leash without pulling too much, which goes well until the next squirrel, then she forgets her manners. She rides well in the car and is crate trained. Paris LOVES to swim and will jump in your pool to fetch a toy, even if its quite cold.
Paris is looking for an active home, preferably with another dog in it for her to learn appropriate dog social skills, get her energy out and learn how to be a polite dog. Large dog experience required, Shepherd experience preferred. Owner must be willing to spend time exercising and training, she bonds quickly and learns fast, but wants all attention at all times, so boundaries are a must.
***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
