My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome boy is Woody (Woodrow). Woody is an almost 5 yr old herding dog mix (we actually have his DNA results!) While he doesn’t always give the best first impression, he has a super goofy personality once he gets to know you. While it also takes time to earn his trust, once you do he is super loyal and will want to follow you everywhere. Woody has been working on training to help his confidence and reactivity around new people and has proven a very quick learner. He has learned place and sit, and doing well with leash training. Woody prefers women over men and can be somewhat possessive, especially over certain toys. Since his confidence is improving, he could do well in a no dog home or with 1 or 2 other dogs. (His best friend in his foster home is Jolene- they would love to be adopted together, as long as they were the only dogs in the home!) Any more dogs in the home and he seems to get stressed and it negatively impacts his behavior. Due to his timid nature, he should not be in a home with young children. If you are looking for a goofy, energetic partner and are willing to put in a little extra effort, Woody will be the most loyal companion you could ask for!

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit dog rescue based in Colorado Springs, CO. Our goal is to rescue dogs from high kill shelters in other states and get them adopted into forever homes all along the Front Range and Pikes Peak Region. We are brand new, established in April 2019, and we are an all volunteer organization. We are always in need of donations, either money, much needed dog items like dog beds, kennels, leashes, etc, and loving foster homes. If you can't provide any of these things, we are always in need of people that can help out at events and transport when the dogs come in. We look forward to hearing from you!!
